The royal family of Japan waving at us as its Emperor Akihito's Birthday (23rd Dec).

Shibuya-Shopping City in Tokyo

Hachinko- a famous dog in Shibuya. It waited everyday at the Shibuya train station even after its owner passed away. Loved for its loyalty.

Making cotton candy

Its the Tokyo International Exchange Festival on 12/11/06. Thought I'd volunteer to do something fun and hence here I am, making cotton candy for the first time.

The vest I am wearing is called 'happi' -traditional Japanese vest. I get to take it back as souvenier. Am currently using it as coat in my room. :-) At the back of the vest it says " Tokyo International Exchange Centre Festival".

I know, I know...such a small cotton candy eh..but the rest is in my 'o na ka'(stomach).

Yokohama trip (3/11/2006)

A Japanese couple looking at the old Yokohama port in the evening...

China town in Yokohama. Manage to get some dried shrimps and chilli in oil for cooking :-)

Measurement taken by Katrina a.ka. Kit Kat from the Phillipines of Japan's tallest building known as the Landmark Tower at Yokohama. Can't build buildings that are too tall due to the frequent earthquakes.
Picture taken at the Osanbashi overlooking the Yokohama bridge. From the left is Eugene, Joe, Me, Amy (Malaysian), Kit Kat, Grace and Ian.
Definitely got to have a solo picture right....hihi.
Sunst on the Osanbashi a pier made to the shape of a ship deck....

The gang, sitting on the grass of the pier..isn't it great... grass on the pier overlooking the Yokohama city.

Seagulls and more ships at the harbour.

1st Carrot Cake

Me and Way Way baked a carrot cake at the common kitchen on 9th floor of TIEC on a Sunday afternoon. Looks good eh....tasted good too..:p

My room in TIEC

My cozy little room of 20 metres square is equiped with a bed, a huge cupboard, microwave, refrigerator, a bathroom and a study table.

Why picture of the toilet bowl? Cause its so cool...its got a sprinkler system that eliminates the need for water hose. The automated controller box is next to the toilet roll...

Pretty flowers....

The place I stay that is Tokyo International Exchange Centre is in Odaiba, which is a reclaimed island of approximately 10 years old. Everyday I will be travelling using underground train called the Rinkai Line and the local train called the Oimachi Line to and from university starting from the station known as Tokyo Teleport. I take the path through a park from Tokyo Teleport to TIEC. So on the way back one day, I decided to take pictures of the pretty flowers :p.

Sunny day in TITECH

My friends and I taking the oppurtunity to have lunch outdoors since its sunny and cool in TITECH. Weather here is nice except for the times when it rains. Sitting most front is Sheila, Grace is behind her, then Eugene (all 3 from the Philippines), me and to my right is Mauru ( third generation Japanese from Brazil).

Mini New York in Tokyo

Taking a picture with the mini Statue of Liberty at Aqua City near my dormitory. With me are my international friends, standing from left to right, Ian (Philippines), Me, Way Way (British born Malaysian) and Eugene (Philippines).

The beautiful Rainbow Bridge connecting the Tokyo city to Odaiba, a reclaimed island which I am staying on.

Still need to go to New York? :-)

Trip to Asakusa and Ginza

I am on the Ginza main shopping street without any shopping bags :(. No more moeny, am still awaiting allowance which should be in by the end of this month.

A group of foreigners and locals getting their pictures taken in their kimonos in the middles of Ginza shooping street. The street is actually closed to vehicles on Saturday and Sunday..so pedestrains are 'King and Queens' of the day.

At the main entrance leading to the 'sensoji' in Asakusa having a green tea ice cream that cost 300 Yen.

I have moved on to Asakusa. The whole street I am on leads to a temple. But on the way there, you can actually stop by the stalls on both sides to buy snacks, souveniers, clothes and many more. It visited by both locals and foreigners. Very popular....

The temple and food....
